How to Set Up a Proxy in Hidemium

Hidemium is an antidetect browser built for running a lot of accounts side by side. Each profile carries its own fingerprint, cookies, and proxy, and you build it through a ten-section form covering platform, browser version, hardware, extensions and the rest. You will not need most of them. Proxies are section three, and what makes that part quick is the Format Proxy field: paste one credential string in and Hidemium splits it into host, port, username, and password by itself. Underneath sits a Check Proxy button that resolves the IP and names the city it lands in. So you know where a profile will appear to be before you ever launch it.

Full Hidemium setup, start to finish

What You Need

  • An active FleetProxy plan (residential rotating, static residential, mobile rotating, or datacenter)
  • Hidemium installed and signed in
  • Your proxy credentials from the FleetProxy dashboard

Not sure which proxy type fits? Rotating residential works for most multi-account setups, while static IPs suit accounts you keep long term.

Get Your FleetProxy Credentials

Every Hidemium profile needs a host, port, username, and password. Here is where to find them in the dashboard.

  1. 1

    Open Active Proxies

Log in to the FleetProxy dashboard and click Active Proxies in the left sidebar. It lists every plan you already own.

  2. 2

Manage the plan you want to use

Find the product you are connecting, then click Manage. Each product has its own host and ports, so pick the one you actually plan to route traffic through.

  3. 3

    Generate and copy your proxy

Open the Generator tab. Choose country, state, city, or ISP if you need a specific location, pick HTTP/HTTPS or SOCKS5, then set rotation to Random IP or Sticky IP. Your credentials appear on the right, ready to copy.

Hidemium Proxy Setup, Step by Step

  1. 1

Set the generator format to host, port, username, password

Still in the FleetProxy generator, open the Format dropdown and pick the option that hands you host, port, username, and password as one string, then click Copy. Hidemium reads that single line and fills its own four fields from it, so choosing the format here saves you retyping four values later.

  2. 2

Open Hidemium and click Add Profile

Launch Hidemium and you land on Profiles. Click Add Profile at the top of the left sidebar. Each profile is one isolated browser identity, so make one per account you intend to run.

  3. 3

Name the profile on Base info

The Create Profile window opens on 1. Base info, the first of ten sections listed down the left. Give the profile a name, then set Platform and Browser. Hidemium covers Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and iOS here, and it warns you when the platform you pick does not match the browser you chose. Leave the rest on its defaults unless you have a reason not to.

  4. 4

Open 3. Proxy and choose Your Proxies

Click 3. Proxy in the left column. The row of tabs across the top starts on Without Proxies, which means the profile would go out on your own connection. Switch it to Your Proxies. That is the tab that takes outside credentials, and its fields appear underneath as soon as you select it.

  5. 5

    Set the proxy type

Open the Proxy Type dropdown and pick what you generated. Hidemium offers HTTP, SOCKS4, SOCKS5, and SSH. HTTP and SOCKS5 are the two you will use with FleetProxy, and the type has to line up with the port you were given, so check it against the dashboard rather than guessing.

  6. 6

Paste the string into Format Proxy

Paste the line you copied into Format Proxy and Hidemium splits it across IP address, Port, Username, and Password by itself. The screenshot uses the mobile gateway, mobile.fleetproxy.io on port 5000. Residential rotating is residential-v2.fleetproxy.io, also on 5000. Glance at the four fields before you move on, because a missing separator in the pasted string leaves them empty.

  7. 7

Run Check Proxy, then create the profile

Click Check Proxy. Detail Proxy fills in on the right with the exit IP, its city, country, timezone, and ASN, in green when it connects. Read the city rather than skimming past it, since that is what platforms will see, and it should match what you asked the generator for. Then click Create profile, or Create and run profile to open the browser straight away.

If you are using static residential (ISP) proxies

For static residential (ISP) proxies there is no gateway domain to paste. Put the IP address assigned to you in the dashboard into IP address, then use port 50100 for HTTP or 50101 for SOCKS5. Username and password stay the same.

Verify It Actually Works

Check Proxy names the city before you launch, which is usually enough. If you want to see it from inside the browser, open httpbin.org/ip in the running profile and confirm the address matches. Your own IP coming back means the profile started without the proxy, so reopen it and check 3. Proxy is still on Your Proxies rather than Without Proxies.

You can also run the address through our IP lookup tool to confirm the country and provider, or use the proxy tester to check the connection responds before you start working in the profile.

Troubleshooting Hidemium Proxy Errors

The four fields stay empty after pasting

Hidemium could not read the string. Go back to the generator and confirm the format is the one that returns host, port, username, and password rather than a URL. Then copy it again, since a line break or a space at either end will stop it parsing.

Check Proxy fails

Work through it in order. Re-copy the credentials first, because a trailing space is the usual cause. Then check Proxy Type against the port, since residential rotating runs on 5000 for HTTP and SOCKS5 alike while static ISP splits them across 50100 and 50101. Last, confirm the plan still has bandwidth left in your dashboard.

Check Proxy connects but reports a country you did not pick

The proxy works, it landed somewhere else. Go back to the generator, set the country, state, or city you want, then copy the credentials again. A rotating gateway hands you a fresh exit each session unless you asked for a sticky IP.

Profiles keep getting linked to each other

Give every profile its own IP. One address shared across several undoes the fingerprint work, because the address is the first thing platforms line up. Match the profile to its proxy too: an Android or iOS platform profile belongs on a mobile IP, and the timezone and language should suit the country the IP sits in.

Still getting blocked once everything connects? That is usually an IP reputation problem rather than a setup problem, and our guide on avoiding IP bans covers what to change.

Hidemium Proxy Setup FAQ

Does Hidemium support SOCKS5 proxies?

Yes. The Proxy Type dropdown offers HTTP, SOCKS4, SOCKS5, and SSH, and the choice is made per profile rather than once for the whole app. SOCKS5 is the usual pick for antidetect work because it moves traffic without rewriting HTTP headers, though HTTP is fine for ordinary browsing.

Can each Hidemium profile use a different proxy?

It can. The proxy belongs to the profile and is set when you create it, so every profile browses from its own address. That part matters more than the fingerprint work. A flawless fingerprint will not save ten accounts that all leave from one IP.

What is the Format Proxy field for?

It takes a full credential string as one line and splits it into IP address, port, username, and password on its own. That saves copying four values separately, and it removes the most common setup mistake, which is pasting the right values into the wrong boxes.

Does Hidemium come with proxies included?

It sells its own alongside the browser, which is what the residential tabs in the proxy section are for. The Your Proxies tab sits beside them so you can bring your own instead, and supplying it yourself means you choose the network, the locations, and the rotation behavior.

Which proxies work best with Hidemium?

Residential rotating suits volume work that needs fresh addresses. Static ISP suits accounts held long term, because the address does not move. Mobile IPs are the strongest option on mobile-first platforms, and they pair naturally with the Android and iOS platform profiles the browser can build.
