About the Author
Michael Maelar is the Head of Proxy Infrastructure at FleetProxy. He oversees the rotating residential and mobile IP network, including pool sourcing, ASN distribution, geo-targeting accuracy, and rotation logic across 195+ countries. Before joining FleetProxy in 2025, Michael spent six years building web scraping infrastructure for mid-market e-commerce and SEO teams. His background covers Python and Node.js scraping pipelines, anti-bot evasion strategies, headless browser orchestration with Puppeteer and Playwright, and proxy rotation patterns at scale. He's also worked on the buyer side of the proxy market, evaluating and integrating networks from most of the major providers. At FleetProxy, Michael focuses on three things: making sure the IP pool stays clean and ethically sourced, running internal benchmark testing on response times and success rates across global geo-targets, and writing technical content that helps developers and small teams pick the right proxy type for their workload. He writes regularly about residential proxies, rotating mobile proxies, web scraping reliability, anti-detection patterns, and how to compare proxy providers without falling for inflated marketing claims. When he's not deep in network logs, he's testing the latest anti-bot systems on production scraping targets.
